I GET IT!!

1 point to the one who rides the short bus

I was listening to Dennis Prager today.  He is just an incredibly smart person.  He made a point that made me just stop and think (I still have a headache).

He was elaborating on the major difference between right and left.  He was saying that those who tend to be more conservative have a philosophy that takes over when things go wrong and makes them question, "What could I have done to make this better?"  It is called owning yourself and taking responsibility for your actions.  On the other hand, people who are more liberal tend to take the view that somehow society caused the wrong and it just "happened" to them and now they have to fight society.  It makes victims out of everyone (except the US of course, that is the great evil).

For example, if I didn't pay my bills this month (I did by the way).....a conservative viewpoint would be:  Ok, did I not have enough money?  Why?  Do I need to get a better job?  Another job?  What could I have done to make more money?   On the other hand, a liberal viewpoint:  Ok, why don't I have a better job?  Do the employers need to pay me more?  Maybe the rule should be that they should pay me more.  Maybe the rule should be that all the "rich" ones should get me an education so that i can be rich too.

So really it is personal responsbility vs. refusing to take responsiblity.  We see it across the country in this election.  So far, haven't heard of a lawsuit....why?  Because the republicans are out there wondering what they could have done better to win.  Not how to take it because the Democrats did something bad to win.

Hmmmm, even those who ride the short bus understand the differences.  SCORE.  I think I like the side I am on.  I think I will stay here.
